I still get the P2173 code on the car. I tried to change the throttle body unit for another one, but that was totally useless. Normally I can drive for 10-15 minutes, and the code comes up again. This is what Iv'e been able to find about this fault code: 5008. 407 2.0HDi. L. la20 Discussion starter. 4 posts · Joined 2012. #1 · Jul 25, 2013. Hi I have a 2008 1.6 hdi 90 207 (no DPF) with 55k on it. I have a problem with the engine hesitating/surging at 2 - 3 k, Ive been told its the EGR valve. I have read these forums and seen some people blank them which apparently is hard to get to on the 207, is this true? Most Peugeot vehicles are under the steering wheel in the driver’s side footwell. However, some models have OBD2 ports located in unusual places. In Peugeot 407 or 607, look in the armrest compartment. In Peugeot 307, 308, or RCZ, there is a small matt-covered slot at the bottom of the central console, in front of the gearbox lever. Your engine computer fails to see any voltage change as it attempts to open or close the EGR indicating it is stuck in one position. Codes P0490 EGR control circuit "A" means no high voltage change to indicate the EGR is opening or closing. P0489 is basically identical but it means circuit low as opposed to high. peugeot 206 dv4td diesel engine presentation.pdf Repair manuals 3.16 MB: Spanish 40 206: 1998 - 2010 peugeot 206 owners manual espanol.pdf User's manuals 4.08 MB: Spanish 137 206: 1998 - 2010 peugeot 206 service manual francais.pdf The egr is a valve that now adays is electronically actuated. The code probably refers to the electronic portion of the valve. I’m guessing the code is for the position sensor, either the sensor isn’t able to sense the position of the valve. It may even refer to the valves initial resting position or learned minimum voltage. Remove pipes going to and from the airbox, remove the fuel filter, then undo the two bolts holding the fuel filter bracket in place and remove the bracket. The EGR valve is jsut below this its held in with 2 bolts that are a little awkward to get to. Just disconnecting the wires will throw up a fault code. In this video we can see where the EGR valve is located in the Peugeot 407 and how to proceed if we need to disassemble it, for example to clean it or replace it directly. As shown, it is located in the left rear area of the engine and to access it you will first need to remove the air cleaner box. 3515 posts · Joined 2012. #13 · Jun 29, 2017. if it says egr jammed blanking wont help. it will still go into limp mode. you need a fully working egr then blank it. or get the egr mapped out and then block it. Note that while failure of the EGR valve itself can cause this Crow, I'm just assuming the EGR is stuck open because the pipe from it to the air manifold gets hot from just 1 minute's idle. I would expect the value to only open once the engine got warm. 0-60 down to 27 secs and it can climb motorway hills now, but still poor acceleration for a new turbo on a 2.0. They havent located the failure yet, but suspect it to be EGR valve failure or broken valve spring. Symptoms match EGR failure, but having a snapped cam chain repair, it is likely that one or more valve springs could have been beaten. Anyone in here having broken valve spring experience? Btw: Peugeot refuses to compensate since the car milage XRhh.
